Multiple sources stated the version 12.7 deleted iTunes's ability to download and manage apps for devices. There are messages saying that the real problem / thing to update is not Windows but iTunes itself-you need version 12.7 or later for a new payment encryption system.īut wait, I have iTunes 12.6, and have not updated for a good reason. Poking around the Apple forum, lots of others seem to have this issue. That page says that iTunes no longer supports Windows XP and Vista-so I should be good, what the $&#* is this error message? When I try to do that, it tells me I can't until after I've updated to the latest version of Windows, and then links me to an Apple support page.
When I try to make a purchase, iTunes tells me I need to update my payment information.
I'm running iTunes on a Windows 7-64 bit Home Premium system.
